Khan Wedding September 2011

We were honored to be selected to create Juvaria Khan's wedding at Enchantment Resort, last September 2011. She and her family were such lovely people, and the year we spent working with them was really something special!

The first night dinner was all brights, turquoise, orange and yellow, to match Juvaria's gorgeous beaded gown for Mehndi. This was the second night event, which was the elegant evening for family and friends to toast the bride and groom and their families. Theme colors were burgundy, red and gold.

The stage was set with huge florals, gold arch and antique setee, and a curtain of red jewel beads and hundreds of red carnations.

And to top the evening off, the stunning cake, created by Donna Joy Varney of Sedona Sweet Arts. We want to thank Sameer Soorma Photography for these wonderful images, Suzanne Taussig Events for her incredible event coordination, and we look forward to our next South Asian wedding.

Sedona Golf Resort Wedding

This beautiful wedding on September 30th, 2011 had to be moved indoors at the last minute as a huge Sedona monsoon storm moved in quickly, drenching the outdoor site. Everyone on site grabbed chairs between lightning strikes!
But as you can see, the stunning view at The Sedona Golf Resort made the perfect indoor backdrop.
The rich Sedona colors looked so beautiful with our bride's ivory dress and beautiful strawberry blond hair!

This Fall, one of our brides asked us to enhance a beautiful beaded prayer necklace that would "entwine" the two of them during their ceremony. This small adornment became an entire wedding floral theme of pale colors, from yellow and pinks, to lavenders. Held at The Creekside Inn, this garden wedding was cozy... and elegant.

The bride's bouquet had LOTS of texture, with peonies, spray roses, garden roses, waxflower, lady's mantle and hypericum berries. Right out of an English garden!

Arrangements for the cake table, guest book table and gift table were large scale, with additions of alstromeria, larkspur and solidago.

Family style tables were filled with smaller versions of these arrangements in jelly jars, creating an abundant garden feel on soft pink table cloths.

And the reception for 150, held on the upper lawn protected from the sun by a beautiful canopy from Verde Valley Rentals, POPPED with bright apricot napkins! Our thanks to Cameron Kelly Photography for these beautiful photos!!

Pretty In Pink

Cameron and Kelly Photography really captured this beautiful October wedding! From pale pink to apricot...our bride's bouquet consisted of peonies, mini callas, stock, lisianthus and David Austin roses!

Los Abrigados creek side reception literally "glowed pink" in the warm twilight. The chocolate brown table cloths really added that touch of Fall.

Table centerpieces were just as feminine, with a rich mix of roses, dahlias, stock, spray roses, lisianthus and bare grass.

And the bride and groom's sweetheart table was a lush drape of all her favorite pink themed floral. What a gorgeous evening!

Wendy's bouquet was a magical mix of ivory roses, caramel Mokara orchids, large brunia, monkey tails, celosia and succulents. A fiber twine wrap topped it off!

Our groom's boutonniere was like a magical garden on his lapel......

And...the real magic happened at the new Sky Ranch Lodge wedding patio, coordinated by Bonnie Grant of the Agave Event Center.

Fall Wedding at Enchantment

Enchantment Resort was the host for this beautiful wedding last weekend! Their ballrooms open up to a wonderful patio, surrounded by Sedona's majestic red rocks. Our bride, Sara, carried a bouquet of flame mini callas, hypericum berries, rust roses, orange spray roses, orange Mokara roses and crespedia, as well as two tiny picture frames of loved ones, near and dear to her.

This event was coordinated by Van Damme Weddings and Events. Her selections of elegant linens, paired with our delicate iron lanterns and vintage iron urns were just the touch for our charming southern bride and groom.

And, of course, the total look was finished with elegant table cards, created by the one and only The Event Essentials! All the best to our lovely bride and groom and a huge THANK YOU to Bob Coates Photography for these gorgeous photos!!!! Oh yea...and Bobby Russell of Sedona Sounds DJ........you rock the house!

Vintage French Wedding at Agave of Sedona

Tonights wedding at the Agave of Sedona Event Center was over the top! Bonnie Grant's stunning table linens set the tone for the amazing rich Fall colors of our vintage French decor. Custom made hatboxes in chocolate dupioni silk wrapped in citron silk ribbon, held large garden style arrangements.

Additional table decor included gold mercury glass votives, our gold beaded lamps and ornate gold photo stands.

This amazing cake, created by Sedona Cake Couture was displayed in front of the incredible picture windows that makes Agave of Sedona one of the most beautiful places in Sedona to have your ceremony and reception. Last night was the first snow of the season, as shown on the Flagstaff rim. It will be a night to remember!

June L'Auberge "English Garden" Wedding

It can simply start with a great boutonniere.........

an amazing bouquet of scabiosa pods, apricot spray roses, blue thistle, peach hypericum berries, poppy pods, white delphinium, allium drumsticks, Queen Anne's lace and peach garden roses.........

and then EXPLODE into a fabulous garden reception with "ginormous" arrangements created in aluminium wash tubs. It took 3 florists to lift each one, but it was worth it! Photos provided by Cameron + Kelly Studios.

Sedona visitors took a "double take" when passing this handsome group of groomsmen at Tlaquepaque, this past May.

This stunning wedding took place at the beautiful Tlaquepaque Courtyard in May, 2011. Thanks to Cameron + Kelly Studios for these great images!

Our bride and her bridesmaids' bouquets were filled with ivory roses, white orchids, blue thistle, blue cornflower, lamb's ear, lavender and statice! We could smell the ocean on the White Cliffs of Dover!

Bouts were fun and fragrant, created of thistle, limonium and lavender.

The youngest member of the wedding party looked so handsome in his traditional Scottish clothing!

When a bride says she wants a "Red Rock" wedding, we know just what to do. This bouquet is a blend of terracotta roses, yellow crespedia, rust alstromeria and yellow freesia with an unexpected touch of yellow cymbidium orchids. Just the trick!

Bride's favorite colors....YELLOW and RUST. A cymbidium orchids always makes a whimsical boutonniere.

And our bride forgoes the typical touch of roses for something much more fun, trailing down her aisle. Thanks to Melissa Dunstan Photography for these wonderful photos!

Thanks to Melissa Dunstan Photography for these gorgeous photos of our June wedding at The Sedona Heritage Museum. Our bride's bouquet was filled with this season's first crop of beautiful summer floral including peonies, roses, hypericum, mini callas, dahlias and bouvardia. How yummy!

Because of our bride had so many bridesmaids, we decided that each girl would carry just one of the flowers in her bouquet. When all standing to her left, at the alter, it was like a summer garden.

Inspirador Hollywood Glam Event

On June 22, 2011, Van Damme Events and Bliss Extraordinary Floral showcased an incredible 1930's Hollywood Glam open house, at the new Inspirador Event Center in Glendale AZ. The evening was designed by Margaret Van Damme, stunning linens from Classic Rentals, gorgeous custom printing by The Event Essentials, decor and floral designs by Bliss Extraordinary Floral. The evening grooved with authentic tango dancers, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers on the big screen and Black Dahlia signature cocktails.

Inspirador's wedding chapel is absolutely incredible. Famous quotes are hand painted on the floor, sparkling clear Chivari chairs, a full wall of votives and their crystal canopy instantly create a magical atmosphere. The temperature soared to 114 degrees that day, but walking into their wedding chapel was like stepping into an ice castle.

Margaret Van Damme's "Groom's Table" boasted chocolate cigars in authentic vintage boxes, imprinted matchbooks, 1930's telephone, retro chewing gum and of course Groucho Marks!!! Groucho's spirit filled the room.

The entry table for guests displayed a working vintage typewriter with custom imprinted stationery from The Event Essentials, antique luggage with pearl hangers and original sterling silver candlesticks from the Irving Mills Music collection. Vintage bridal hat created by Amy Mills from Bliss Floral. The evening was well attended and glamourous as can be!

"Whimsey" at The Amara Resort

Roxie's wedding at The Amara Resort this past June was really a day of whimsey! She owns her own cosmetic company, was a blast to work with, and her wedding was just plain FUN! It was held on the Amara Resort creekside patio, with a ballroom reception.

Creating magic at the Amara Resort!

What a beautiful couple! Last month's wedding at The Amara Resort was so beautiful, romantic and......

.....one of the windiest days on record. Our new wrought iron "tree chuppah" remained standing with the help of huge rocks and strong men! The bride was unruffled by the wind and everyone celebrated.

Huge pomander balls hung from the tree stands in her beautiful colors and added the whimsical touch that our bride wanted for her joyful day.

David Austin roses, Equidorian roses, carnations, sweet peas and hypericum in moss covered urns graced the tables, but needed a little extra bracing against the gusts of wind. Everything stayed afloat, and eventually the wind died down and everyone enjoyed the beautiful setting at The Amara Resort! Thanks also to their wedding planner Margaret Van Damme of Van Damme Weddings, Heather Kadar Photography and April Bates from Amara, for keeping everything together so beautifully.

Today was a gorgeous day for our bride Asela's wedding. The Sedona Golf Resort has been completely remodeled and it so stunning. Soft colors, modern, beautiful chandeliers!

We loved our bright white French arch with a few accents of French Kiss roses and the white chairs.

Asela selected a color scheme of black, bright red and white. Her arrangements in black glass cubes included white hydrangea, French Kiss roses, gerberas, hypericum berries and bright red tulips. The ballroom really popped!

Countdown to The Secret Garden Wedding

April 30th...The Secret Garden Wedding which will be held at Alcantara Vineyards. Liz Moler from Something Elaborate arrived at our shop about two months ago and told us that her bride wanted us to recreate the 1997 movie The Secret Garden, in a tented wedding at Alcantara Vineyards. Considering they have just finished building their stunning chapel, sitting among the vines, we jumped on the offer! Now in the stages of creating sample table arrangement, which are in 20" metal urns. Here is a close up of some of the details. Each table will be it's own Secret Garden. More to come!

April told us she wanted it ever so feminine, soft and elegant, so we immediately thought of an English garden (since April is ever so British!). 4 shades of blush roses packed into an antique iron urn, atop beautiful embroidered linens from La Tavola. Amara Resort's Meditation Room looks out over their stunning wedding site, right on the creek. 50th Birthday Bash at Enchantment Resort

Now this is a way to celebrate your 50th!!! Our client Vicki Evarts brought about 28 of her closest friends to Sedona to have a wingding event at The Enchantment Resort. We had so much fun working with her over the phone, designing a mix of "desert romance" on her one long family style table. Table linens were from La Tavola and chair covers and tiny silver rope ties came from BBJ Linens.

We created 24 assorted live cactus gardens and mixed them with Victorian silver candlesticks and epergine bowls. Even the linen napkins were folded to mimic the succulents! Adding to that a ton of votives and column candles made the evening magical.

Vickie wanted one large showpiece for her guests. A big thanks to Molly Anderson and Jessica Caldwell at Enchantment for all their help!

We had fun creating a tiny wedding this Thanksgiving Day at The Enchantment Resort. This one took place in one of the smaller event rooms, but was so cozy and elegant for her small ceremony and reception. After the ceremony, they lit the fireplace and the fun began. This is a good shot of our new white iron French arch, which rents with a small crystal chandelier.

She also rented our hand cut crystal risers with spray arrangements in her personal colors of fuchsia and bright yellow.

Samantha and Bryan's Wedding last month at Page Springs Winery was the bride's favorite mix of "country" and "chic". All the guests sat at one incredibly long table enjoying BBQ, great music and lots of fun. Vineyard chic may just become our favorite style!

New Studio

Well, we have moved to our new studio!!!! And we absolutely love it. Original brick floors, beam ceilings and thick Spanish style stucco walls. What a cozy beautiful place to create in and meet our brides.

The best part are all the windows and natural light. It opens up into a beautiful landscaped courtyard where Judi's Restaurant customers dine and sip wine. It has the feel of a small Parisian flower shop.

What a beautiful church in Flagstaff! Our bride rented our ivory Shabby Chic floor stands (a bit hard to see in this photo) and they were filled with sunflower arrangements with blue delphinium and greens, and her spray arrangements had her important pop of blue delphinium as well. The iron stands come in 3 sizes. These are the medium sized ones.

What can you say?? Simple, classic and so cheerful!!!

Now this was fun. Trying not to smoosh this gorgeous cake's decoration with huge sunflowers...but in the end, it looked great. Love the topper!

Just a few weeks ago we created a lovely wedding at Sedona Golf Resort. The bride's theme colors were royal blue and white. Great choice against the incredible blue sky.

Her attendants carried very simple but elegant bouquets of blue delphinium.

The beauty of this reception at the Sedona Golf Resort was simplicity. LOTS of candlelight, silver chargers and chair ties, and square vases filled with white hydrangea with oversized silver mercury glass votive holders created an opulent feel. Thanks you Jenni Goldman for these wonderful photos.

Jennie Goldman just provided us with these gorgeous photos today! This was a gorgeous wedding at Sedona Golf Resort and her colors were wonderful with the red rocks as the backdrop! Basket arrangements were held by wrought iron garden crooks with huge spray arrangements in her colors of oranges, purples, kermit greens, yellows and rusts.

This precious flower girl pranced down the aisle, forgetting to sprinkle her mixed rose petals, but was darling just the same.

Arrangements in glass cube vases were abundantely filled with green hydrangea, orange Asiatic lilies, red and orange gerbera daisies, deep purple vanda orchids, yellow alstromeria, orange roses and fuchsia stock. Bliss Extraordinary Floral is featured in the newest issue of Arizona Weddings Magazine (pages 414 and 415). Our bride and groom, Julia Jackson and Jordan Kendzlic sealed it with a kiss at Mayhew Lodge in Oak Creek Canyon in October, 2009, followed by a small reception at The Hideaway Restaurant. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Julia!!! We're thrilled!

The Copper Ball, on June 5th, was a huge success. Held in the Calle Indepencia at Tlaquepaque, 300 happy guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner provided by Heartline Cafe. This was the 8th annual Copper Ball. The event raises money for programs for the Verde Valley Hospital in Cottonwood, and this year's event benefited the Fit Kids program, Michele Obama's project to fight juvenile obesity. We were honored to be a part of this special evening. The theme was copper pennies, so when the sun went down the tables glowed with giant lit wine glasses, filled with water pearls and hundreds of copper pennies, suspended among the bubbles.

Last night's wedding was held at the beautiful Tlaquepaque Chapel. Sarah wore a magnificent cathedral length veil, so her entry was breathtaking! Sarah and Daniel had selected a very Zen design for their floral artistry with an emphasis on citron green and deep purple.

Sarah's bouquet was created with a hand made "Glamelia", cymbidium orchids and stephanotis on lily grass. A Glamelia is made by hand wiring gladiolus blossoms together to create a large format designer flower. It really accented her dramatic purple jewel necklace.

One of our wrought iron unity candle rental worked perfectly to display Sarah's gorgeous candle set on the Tlaquepaque alter.

The Heartline Cafe outdoor patio served as their beautiful reception venue. Beautifully landscaped, The Heartline Cafe offers a warm, rustic and inviting area for small intimate receptions.

Table decor included oversized 8" square glass cubes with river stones and a full stem of cymbidium orchids, accented with a "structure" of steel grass and tropical leaves.

As you can see, all this photo is missing are the guests (still at the chapel), candlelight and music. Congratulations to Sarah and Daniel!!

The Poco Diablo gazebo is the only gazebo in town and is so much fun to decorate. Between the huge weeping willows and the gorgeous duck ponds on the green, this venue has it all.

Lisa and Mike's Wedding took place October 10, 2009, at the beautiful Radisson Poco Diablo Resort. (watch for more venue photos to come). Her colors were absolutely amazing, and as you can see, they matched her wonderful and wild personality.

Lisa's bouquet was the perfect Autumn mix and created using Black Magic roses, Circus roses, parrot tulips and red hypericum berries.

We want to thank everyone at Brides For Brides Photography (www.bridesforbrides.com) for these stunning photographs of our wedding last October 2009. We had the honor of creating the floral for Courtney Thissell's wedding day. Courtney's event was held at the beautiful Radisson Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona. Her bouquet was designed to enhance her gorgeous eyes and Brides For Brides captured it all!

Our Bride's bouquet was a Biedermeier style bouquet of white roses, purple stock, blue iris and red carnations.

Courtney's theme colors were stunning against the lush green backround of the Radisson golf course. We loved the two different shades of bridesmaids' dresses. All the girls carried large round clutch bouquets of blown white roses.

We want to thank Heather Kadar, of Heather Kadar Photography for these beautiful photographs of a wedding we did at Tlaquepaque this past September, 2009. Vickie Reitz, our master floral designer, created this wonderful cascade of hydrangea, stock, mini callas and dendrobium orchids.

The little flower girls carried charming pomander balls of tulle, alstromeria blossoms and spray roses. The ceremony was held in outdoors in the red rocks, where "petals sprinkles" are against forest service regulations. Pomander balls are the perfect answer!

Could anything be more romantic or elegant than a Calle de los Indepencia reception, at Tlaquepaque, on a warm late summer night? Tlaquepaque has five beautiful ceremony/reception sites available. Or contact Bonnie Grant at Rosalie's of Sedona Catering, for more information.

Today's wedding was created at the beautiful Agave Ballroom, in Sedona. Look at that view! There is no other ballroom in Sedona that offers this "wall to wall" magnificent view of the red rocks. The Agave Ballroom is managed by Bonnie Grant, of Rosalies of Sedona Catering, and every event she creates is just perfection.

The lovely little cake matched our floral perfectly, and was created by award winning cake designer Donna Varney, of Sedona Sweet Arts in Sedona.

Arrangements were created in mismatched Tuscan urns, of antique hydranges, Orange Unique roses, red parrot tulips, spray roses, purple lisianthus, green hypericum berries and grapes.

La Tavola Linens in Confetti Olive and Burgundy Swirl were accented with double gathered chivari chair covers, in wine, and a fun pop of lavender on the chairs and napkins. All decor was provided by Bliss Floral, creating a very feminine feel to the Tuscan theme wedding. Silver mercury glass votive cups, studded with Swarovski crystals added just the right amount of twinkle.

Arrangements of angel skin hydrangea, ivory and dark peach roses, Fall pomps, carnations and dyed seeded eucalyptus glowed with an early Fall feel. You never know where you might find our flowers. This is an original French Horn, manufactured in the 1800's, by Henry Distin Manufacturing Co. in Williamsport PA. Mr. Distin invented the lever system for French horns, and this instrument, created exclusively for his daughter, is completely engraved with floral patterns. A rare find on ebay, and fun to fill with "trumpet calla lilies"! Photo taken by Tere Ireys of Benjemax Studios in Cottonwood Arizona.

With some 90% of our weddings created for wonderful "out of town" brides, it was such fun to create a wedding for a "local" Sedona bride, this September, 2009. The Teubner family were a joy to work for and when it was over...we just didn't want to let go! Luckily...we still have them here to visit.

The crisp white on ivory reception was held at the beautiful Agave Ballroom. What could be more elegant, cool and refreshing for a mid summer wedding in Sedona? We loved the simplicity of fresh gardenias (a real treat in Arizona), floating in a pool of cool aqua colored stones. Rosalie's of Sedona provided the gorgeous BBJ Linens, with their signature chair ties!

The bride's bouquet was created with ivory roses, alstromeria, carnations and spray roses. Even though it was a hot summer day, the bride, and her all white and ivory bouquet, looked cool and beautiful.

The ceremony was held at the Sedona Historical Museum. This is the original apple packing barn of Sedona. Suzanne Loo McCoy officiated the wedding inside the old barn, surrounded by all of the original apple processing machinery. A huge monsoon storm brewed outside, with lightning and lots of thunder, but the guests were safe inside the barn. Jenni Goldman, of Jenni Goldman Photography, was their incredible photographer.

August Vineyard Wedding at Page Springs Winery

Held at Page Springs Winery, this August 2009 vineyard wedding, designed by Margaret Van Damme and Bliss Extraordinary Floral, was everything a vintage wedding should be. Natural abundant floral arrangements, French floral buckets, mismatched imported dishes, silver and crystal, sitting on Margaret's own collection of 1940's tablecloths. And...every vine was ripe with beautiful grapes!

The bride's bouquet was an incredible wildflower collection of roses, purple allium drumsticks, amaranthus, cymbidium orchids, pods and Queen Anne's lace.

It was such fun, and opened up an entirely new venue for Sedona brides. Schelli and Mike fromTaltos Video provided the amazing wedding video, and Katrina Wallace was the photographer for this event. Both video and photographs were exquisite! Think about having the romance of a vineyard wedding, only minutes from the grandeur of the red rocks of Sedona.

This was an exciting week at Bliss Floral. The award winner actor, Tony Curtis, came to Sedona for the opening of The Sedona Arts Festival. Not many people know that Tony Curtis has been a painter throughout his entire life, working on his canvases in between takes, while filming the many famous movies in which he starred. Bliss Floral was asked to provide floral for his Harkins Theatre interview, followed by a showing of "Some Like it Hot", and centerpieces for a dinner of fundraising at the L'Auberge de Sedona ballroom, where Mr. Curtis's paintings of cats were available for auction. Shown here is Tony Curtis being interviewed at Harkins Theatre, on October 8, 2009.

First let me say that without Victoria Reitz and her master talents, we might not have been selected as the 2009 Sedona's Best Florist, by the U.S. Department of Commerce, or the 2009 Best Bridal Salon of the year, voted by Kudos Magazine. Vickie joined Bliss 7 years ago, arriving from Ohio with more talent in her pinky than all of us put together. She brought 17 years of wedding experience with her and has created hundreds of our stunning weddings and events, many times singlehandly. Vickie....we love you!!
